Projects

Here are some of my favorite projects that I have worked on throughout my time at Rutgers University, listed by class!

Strategic Presentation

"Examines theories and techniques for analyzing, producing, and disseminating messages. Students will learn how to use web-based and multimedia presentation tools to connect with a variety of audiences and convey a desired message. Each student will craft a message to support some social change by developing and shaping the message into compelling digital media presentations in a range of formats" (Rutgers University, 2020).

I recorded this podcast for my blog, BEINDIY, which was created to showcase women and other marginalized groups in the music community.

Structure of Information

"Through the lens of different media such as newspaper articles, blogs, Wikipedia entries, social media posts, and news programs, students examine and judge the quality of information presented, analyze the economic and cultural factors that affect the availability and reliability of electronic information, and compare and contrast with other sources. After this exploration of information searching and evaluation, the class will address how information is organized and attributed" (Rutgers University, 2020).

I created this infographic to demonstrate democrat candidate fundraising in the 2016 election.

Promotional Media

"What is a promotional culture? Bringing together elements of media studies, visual culture, critical branding/marketing studies, and consumer culture, this course is designed to provide advanced undergraduate students with analytical tools to understand the extent to which promotional language, communication, and habits suffuse our everyday lives" (Rutgers University, 2020).

For this class, I wrote about the commercialization of D.I.Y. music culture by the corporation Sofar Sounds. You can read that essay by clicking here.
